How do I search the serial number of an ETC board?

I have the serial number of my ETC Element 1. I am trying to figure out what operating system it is running on. Do I need to check the board itself or can I just use the serial number?

I am not sure if you can look it up from the serial number online, but you may be able to call them. The easiest way I think is to look at the ports on the back. You can tell just by looking at the back. If it has a VGA port it is XP, if it has DisplayPort it is 7. Win7 Elements also have 2 network ports.

I don't have my Element in front of me, but on my Nomad, if you hit the "About" button, then "setup" in the menu, it will show you your software version and Fixture Library version (among other things).

The Windows XP to Windows 7 upgrade program has been discontinued.
