Intro to Carpentry Project

I simply do not want the Carpentry Forum to devolve into a place where " Just git it dun" is the meme. Too often the idea of cutting corners portrays that idea.

Thats fair enough and makes plenty of sense.

I have to thank my father for making me watch this old house and New Yankee Workshop and then my first shop manager in college because all of that drilled precision, time, and care into me. My Manager held all of our work to exacting precise standards, and it sucked because we would build things that we thought were "good enough" and he would pick it apart and say do it better. Ultimately it taught us to take a little bit more time and do it right the first time and I'm a great carpenter now because of it. Rushing, and "good enough for theatre" shouldn't happen. Just because something will get torn down after a run or we don't see all sides of it, doesn't mean it shouldn't still be well built and able to last indefinitely and take abuse. Doing it right is the way to do it. Period.
