Ion upgrade

Can the Ion be upgraded? Can a theatre that bought an Ion 1000 get some sort of software upgrade to the Ion 1500 or 2000? Or, are they forever limited to 1024 DMX addresses?

I think you mean address counts. Channel count remains at 10,000, address is determined by the initial purchase. (edit) and as noted can be expanded. I think it's typically just under a grand per add'l universes, though some quotes can be lower.
