kliegl 12kw dimmer array? about

I'm working at Avalon Hollywood. We currently run our conventional lights through an old 60's dimmer array that has an assortment of 7kw and 12kw Kliegl dimmer packs. With the retractable cables etc. We recently lost our DMX to AMX converter units. The dimmer packs use a 28 volt control signal. The new DMX to Analog unit will send out a signal (10 volt), we still have the 10 volt to 28 volt stepup unit, which appears to be working. The lights turn on individually, when multiple lights are turned on various other lights will turn on. Is anyone somewhat familiar with those old units and the conversion of DMX to Analog and how to get these relics working?
thank you:!:

Check the integrity of the signal common. The interaction symptom you gave suggests an open signal common somewhere in the chain between the DMX-Analog interface, the 10v to 28v converter, and the dimmer bank.
