Miking Drums

I play drums so I can help you an this one.

Mic the bass drum, They will normally have a hole cut out of the fromt head made for this.

Put 2 mics over the crash and ride cymbals. Thay are usually the cymbals to the left and right of the set. Keep them about 2 feet away from the cymbals.

Mic the snare. There should be a hole on the outside of the drum about the size of a nickle. That is where you put the mic.

Next, the toms. It there are two toms above the bass drum, put one mic next to each drum. OR if youe shout on mics, put one right inbetweein them above the drum where the drummer wont hit it.

Remember. Most drummers play lowder durring the preformance that when they are worming up.
