I am concidering helping a friends band by purchacing a follow spot and running it.What is a good follow spot for small to medium clubs,im guessing 50 to 100 feet? I dont want to spend $5000 ,but i dont want to buy a cheap one that i would out grow quickly. Thank You Very Much

Looking at the BMI catalog, there is the Cabaret for @$500 with a throw of up to @50'. Luminator - 20-100', @$1000; Midget II - up to 75', @$1000.

Those are the three cheapest on the page. I have never used any of these models though.

You may want to look at Musicians Friend. They have a few <$500 follow spots that may be well suited to your application. If you see one you like, I would compare prices first though with other websites.

How about the Altman follow spots,are they any good.?

Theres 2 on this page PSSL.com -  Search results for "follow spots" around the 1100-1200 Price range.
Just curious how they compare feature for feature with other brands.Its hard for me to compare not having any clue how they work. Thanks Again I appreciate the help.
