Hello everyone,
So I'm just going to briefly introduce myself. I got started in technical theater after seeing my middle school at the time put on Peter Pan where they actually set up a flying rig. Ever since I have been getting my hands dirty. I love what I do because I like the idea of working the magic behind the scenes that few people ever realize. I have been away from it for a few years now due to being in the military but I am right back at it now as a volunteer at my local high school (low budget). I am eager to learn as much as anyone has to offer because I know I sure have a lot to learn / relearn.
I do have one immediate question, the show i am doing right now (Midsummer / Jersey) has a beach scene where I need to make two large mounds of sand (8' long 3' tall 3' deep) that need to be able to be walked on. I have been tossing around the idea of polystyrene coated in VSSSD but I'm not sure how well that will hold up to people running all over it.
