It seems that taking advice from the banner just after signing up is the right thing to do.
Talk about me, it said: I graduated 2 years ago from Western Michigan University with a BA in dance but spent most of my time doing lighting and stage managing. I moved to Chicago to play in a larger field and things have been great so far. Freelancing is my thing, currently, but I'm a regular for the Chicago Tap Theatre, Dance Chicago, and The Moving Architects.
I've tried lighting for theater and I don't have the practical presence to do it. I like to make things pretty but not realistic so dance is more the place for me. I can sling a wrench with the best of 'em but talking to choreographers is much more fun.
