Conventional Fixtures R104 silk direction

Quick question: when I get a sheet (20"x24"), which direction does the silk generally run (lines parallel or perpendicular to the long edge)? I don't have any sheets around to check, thought somebody else might be able to help out.

Light spreads perpendicular to the direction of the scratches.

I think it's perpendicular to the long edge, but not 100% sure
