I have installed two of these in a club, and now I have two to use for my small, but growing production company.
I have 2
Mac 250's and I did a direct comparison. I would say that the output is about 75 to 80% of a
mac 250. The
color temperature is different. Not better or worse, just different- but then again, I don't really ever worry about temperature,
etc because I only really do Music/event/
effect lighting.
The movement is great- a little slower than a
mac 250- but still very good. It's a killer
fixture for the money- street price should be $1500.
The
DMX channels are well designed- and if you can make a
profile yourself in your controlling software, you should be good. I made my own
profile, for DASLight, and I use these all the time now.
I will no longer be buying any more martins. I would rather have 2 of these over 1
Mac 250. The operating temperature is low- no more burns from those hot lamps, and no more overheating.
