Rosco's "Wallhugger"

The only issue I would have would be the possibility of getting one's connectors mixed up, and accidentally plugging a microphone into a 12VDC power supply. You are correct that phantom power is 48vdc, but, as was discussed somewhere else earlier, is current limited to very little amperage.

We always call it multi or mult (sort of like malt) because Socoplex is a brand name. But it's become like Kleenex and Xerox. The brand name has become generic to the product.
Where I work "multi" tends to refer to lighting snakes that run strait to breakouts on the ends, while soco are the multis with the connectors on them, which hook to breakouts.

Back to the other hijack. In this corner of the country I've heard several people refer to it as "So-ca-pex" or just "So-ca's". That's left me rather confused as there is clearly no "a" in the word.

End Hijack of Hijack.

May I direct you to the official website of SocApex, where there is so an "A" in it?
