So not necessarily the most relevant thing, but who knows what Rosco gels to use to recreate ROYGBIV? I know someone in the Booth has it as their signature, but I don't have enough time to lurk the Booth and hunt them down :p

    Thanks!

Who wants to do GAM and Apollo? (Without looking in a book or iPhone?)

Apollo has the best names for their gel.

Is Bikini Yellow a stain? ;)

It's our pleasure to provide knowledge as well as comic relief, as often as required.

I love apollos gel naming much more than other companies. Especially when it plays off of other gel manufactures names.

Is it sad that I am switching to Apollo, mostly because of the cool names? ;)

Far greater men than you have done much worse, for less. That being said, and not really knowing what it means anyway, you might want to take a look at this: http://www.controlbooth.com/forums/lighting/8351-color-media-inventory-poll.html and http://www.controlbooth.com/forums/lighting/5779-curious-what-brand-gel-what-does-cost.html. As I recall, you're a road house, with many different users? Cute names notwithstanding, shouldn't you use something with which most will be familiar? (Not knocking ApolloGel in any way. If it were more popular, I'd probably use it.;)).

We've talked about this before. Apollo has a great strategy going of trying to be a young and fun company to steal the next generation of designers away from the other manufacturers. With the invention of perf gel not only are they fun but they are also easier to use than the other manufacturers. The problem is the majority of people are still using Rosco and Lee. If you are in a road house where other designers are coming in to use your wash, there are many potential issues if you don't stay with the herd and use Rosco or Lee. On the other hand if you are a smaller or stand alone operation where there are no outsiders coming in, the convenience of perf gel alone might be reason enough to switch.
