Source 4 LED Fresnel Adapter

First the Cyc adapter, now a Fresnel adapter. I really like that ETC is giving users a way to re-purpose their LEDs into whatever light they need.

Stick that on a City Theatrical Auto-Yoke, find a method of DMX controlling the zoom and you've got a unit that would give some Martin and Robe LED heads a run for the money, especially with the superior (IMO) 7 color LED engine.

I feel like someone at ETC has decided to go full @ gafftaper Method with the Source 4 LED engine. I like.

My memory is failing me, but a week or so ago I was looking at another brand which offered a Fresnel lens adapter for their ers, and they also had a PC spot adapter. I wish I could remember the company. The one great feature the Robe Robin DLF has is internal barndoors, dmx controllable, at a much higher price.

Really? Please tell me ETC didn't cheap out so much that they made them out of plastic. I was already unimpressed with the zoom range, and for what they cost plastic shouldn't be in the picture.

I doubt it has anything to do with "cheaping out'. The lensing is likely micro-etched polycarbonate like most LED lenses.

I seem to remember reading about some parts that would melt, but can't remember which, or where I read that...

But yeah, I'd go with the lenses.
