I'm primarily a lighting person, but due to some unforeseen circumstances, I'm also serving as the scenic designer/TD for a small Christmas production I'm designing the lights for.
The director really likes the look of a "Tableau Curtain," but our original source backed out. We now are being offered a single panel curtain, blue velour, but I would like to find a way to "open" the single panel a little bit like a tableau style curtain. This is an upstage curtain that would need to open to about 7-8' high in the center, to reveal a 4' faux brick wall. I'm led to believe that the curtain is 20' wide by 10' high, we can't cut it, but sewing rings/etc would be permitted.
Is there any way to approach this, or am I just dreaming?
