Web Control Problems

We have 2 PT-RZ970 Projectors. Running from qLab for firing projections, but... I also have web control so I can access focus and shutter control. They are on our 10.101.50.xx network with the correct subnet (using 255.255.0.0) they are in this network because the Ion is in charge sending OSC to qLab
I can both ping and access the projectors while they are in standby, I can even power them on with the laptop
but, as soon as they are on I can no longer access them or ping them, it's like they lose their network connection. qLab can still fire cues over SDI.

If you have the web GUI open when powering them on, does that go blank?

Did you try a tool like 'Network Watcher' (www.nirsoft.com) to see where they might have gone to, network wise? I'd look at the list before to see them at 10.101... and then see what shows after turn on. Disclaimer - I don't use a 10.101... network in the theater - everything is 192.168... and most on fixed IP, so I could be off base here. (But 'Watcher' is a handy tool to have anyway).

might dig and see if they are switching from http to https. Our used epsons came rigged for https web control and only internet explorer could access them. Internet explorer was taken away and poof... I dug down in the menus using the keypad on the projector itself and switched them to http only. Web interface came back.. They have old stale https certs but since it's a closed network, I don't particularly care. Firefox and Chrome didn't even give a certificate warning. Explorer used to give the warning and let me punch through. So my guess in this case is that when they are powered but "off" the basic on off toggle is http.. but once they are on, the web interface flips to https "for your safety" Could also try operating them with the board and qlab off, in case there is some sort of "handshake" "I'm your boss now" thing going on when active content is being sent for projection. ie presentation vs setup menu mode.
