Printing off a Strand 300 backup floppy

Hey,
I have just finished a show and need to print a State of the board (Cue by Cue, What happens) and all i have is a save of the show on floppy.

I have tried to import it into an OLE with no sucess (Was then either going to print it, or take screen shots)

Anyone know how to do this, or how to achieve the same results another way?'

Thanks, Aaron

You can plug a printer right into the console (i believe that you need a printer that still has a parallel connection) and then print the show from the ARCHIVE screen. I am pretty sure that the console has built in generic print drivers that will work with most printers.

My question for you is why? Do you really not trust that the file you saved will be ok? If you were able to put it in an OLE, you must have some way to get it iff the disk, so you can make as many backups of the show file as you want. Printing a show can take a very long time and LOT of paper (depending on how many cues and such). It seems like a little bit of a waste.

Can you see anything when you take a directory reading of thje floppy? What files are one it? MAybe the file is not on the floppy and was saved to the consoles internal flash hard drive.

Magnetic media doesn't last all that long stray mag fields and the likes
many pieces of software that are only 10 years old I find when I dig out the disks won't read reliably any more

Hey Aaron, the OLE I gave you won't detect printers very well, if you email me the Showfile, then I will print it of on my old desktop running Windows 98.

As for why i need to do this, Its for university, Its part of my assment (Yeh, i have to print off basicaly 1 page for every cue, its a waste of time and effort, but i have to do it to pass)

Unfortunatly i dont have access to the concole anymore, so just printing it off that way is unfortunatly not possible.

The OLE wont even see the disk, i have a feeling its just emulating that it can see drives and it does not actualy access them.

Unfortunatly it also apprears that i cant coppy the backup off the floppy.

So basicaly what im looking for is a way to print the contents of a cue, off a show backup. Any help is really welcome

Give me the disk then next time you see me, as I said when I gave you the OLE, it is only really good for learning the console as it runs a DOS emulator. Alternatley, dig out an old PC, install DOS, install a printer, and print away.
