Why? The cost of a good wireless AP, and the a/i RFR app is far less expensive and more feature rich than any of the ETC hardware remotes. Not to mention the versatility of OSC based remotes.

The iPhone and android RFR solutions are far less expensive than the dedicated hardware. The dedicated ETC hardware is probably going to be pushing close to $1k whereas an iPod touch and wifi router will be less than $400.
If you don't want to spend a bunch of money then go the wireless app route. The wireless remote units run 2400$ can only imagine what the wire ones run and if you can find one.
You can use those old wireless home phone and base stations for remote control with the ION. Appendix E in the manual. You can find them for free or at a goodwill store $25.
