    Radiance Hazer DMX Issue

It is fixed!! We got a new chip with the updated operating program and it is all good now. It will even work without a terminator now and at the end of a set of dimmers and scrollers! Thanks Ultratec.

    Radiance Hazer DMX Issue

It sounds like they either work great or are frustrating. I have tried putting it on its own cable right from the board and it is great if it is on a 6' cable and won't work if it is on a 60' cable! There is nothing else in the data chain. I found another website giving feedback about these...

    Radiance Hazer DMX Issue

We have a LeMaitre Radiance Hazer that we have never used on DMX until now. It works great in stand alone and when we plug DMX in, it promptly goes into overheat (fault) mode unless we have it plugged in on a 6' or shorter cord right beside the board. I even tried its own cord (60') and it does...

    Frog 2

We are trying to stay in the $7000.00 range. I can get a demonstrator Frog 2 for $5400.00 but I don't know anything about them.

    Frog 2

What experiences have people had with a Frog 2. We are considering one for a church setting and would like to hear of experiences using this board for shows and busking events. We own scanners, LED's and conventional fixtures with plans to add movers.

    sound console

What about the A&H ilive series. Easy to get 96 ins with 2 drive racks and that also gives you 48 outs and you pick the console size you want.

    DigiDesign VENUE?

I have played around on a Venue but presently run an A&H iLive and absolutely love it. If you don't absolutely need ProTools, the iLive line has lots of bang for the bucks.

Wireless Multiple racks of UHF-R on single antenna pair

I have run the Shure ULX systems with the distro antennas before and had no problem with dropout at 70ft and even was able to mic check from the basement. I don't think you will have any issues at all.

    House Lights

Thanks for all the discussion. Our ceiling is 24' so the distance shouldn't be as much of an issue. We presently have 10, 3 light hanging fixtures with 23watt CFL's in them so I am thinking that 20 potlights (recessed cans) with PAR 30 LED's should give me the same lumens or slightly more. The...

    Riding an A-Frame Extension Ladder

There has been lots of reference to fall protection during this post, but I haven't seen a reference to a self retracting lifeline. They work great for climbing ladders or scaffolding and definitely enhance safety. You don't want to be extended laterally or a fall will put on a show like the...

    House Lights

Rewiring the house and adding new lights. Planning on going to pot lights, does anyone have experience with dimmable LED's? What is the best way to have both wall control in the house and dimmer control from the booth? Wall control doesn't need to be dimmable so thinking of a relay set up.

    Small headworn wireless mics

We use any lapel mic with surgical tape to tape it to the jawline and behind the ear. Works great and you can get them in various colors or even paint the cord if necessary. Countryman E6 is my favorite with the AT underear second

    Riding an A-Frame Extension Ladder

In Alberta you have to protect the public (volunteers, audience, etc) as much as your employees. I find it troubling that people will quibble over details rather than look after safety. Basic hazard and risk assessment must become the norm in our industry before the authorities force us to...

    wireless mic suggestions?

We have run a set of Shure SLX in a church setting for 5 years. 2 units are used 20hrs a week and the other 2 less. We have packs and handhelds for each receiver and have never had an issue. We have had to buy 3 new screens for the handhekds as they get bent from rough handling. We have upgraded...

Getting a snake from the booth to stage

Having had considerable experience with one, I would try renting a Roland RSS snake. Single cat5 to wherever you want the input head. You can even have 2 input heads if you want.
