Hello!
My name is Melissa, so glad to have found this place. I've been an actor most of my life and have never been super handy when it comes to the technical aspects of theatre. I proposed to direct for my community theatre troupe's 2011 season and if my proposal is accepted my play will ideally be going up in January 2011.
I'm here to get ideas about whether my set / costume / lighting / sound ideas are practical and get a more specific idea of what my ideal budget will look like so I know where I'll need to make sacrifices. Our troupe, like most organizations these days has definitely felt the pangs of the recession and my total budget (not including performance and rehearsal space rental) will quite likely be $1200 or less for a cast of 16-22.
