Apollo Right Arm issue

I have a couple of Right Arms with a S4, scroller, and iris.

One of the Right Arms is having some difficulties. When you move to an extreme location * with tilt) the RA starts making a lot of noise, ( a pulsing mechanical noise) and then after a few seconds it moves to a more home position. ( although home is screwed up after this occurs).

Any ideas or suggestions? It sounds kind of like a clutch is slipping, or the fixture is hitting something ( but it is not)

The noise you hear is the stepper motor slipping. It may be slightly out of balance. It's good enough to operate in part of the tilt range, but it gets to a certain point and the motor can't hold it. My first suggestion is to just try adjusting the balance a bit. These are tricky units. Balancing takes time and patience, that's for sure. Good luck John! Call me if you need.
