autocad to vectorworks

so i am LD on a show and our scenic designer did all of her work in Autocad which means I have one drawing with a top plan view and an elevation on it. I have extruded my elevation but can not get Vectorworks to set it as my front view. I extruded everything selected and pasted in a new document and it still show it as a top plan view any suggestions. Like can I just rotate on the x axis to vertical. if so how because the things I have tried just don't work (rotate etc). any help would be appreciated thanks
