Clear Com Question

Hi Everyone,

I tried searching but couldn't find anything...so sorry if this has already been asked.

Does anyone know if clear com makes an in-ear earpiece (something like: This picture). Basically, I am supervising my replacement stage manager. I want to be able to listen to her calling the show, and interject if necessary, but still be able to move around both backstage and front of house without the bulky clear com headset on my head. (Yes, we already have wireless clear com packs). Does such a product exist that will work with the 4-pin clear com? Or any other suggestions??

I saw that product online...but I'm really looking for something that is only in ear and has a mic that clips to my shirt (security style)...not something to wear around my head.

I think the headset you'll want is an IFB, although I don't know exactly how to get it wired in with a microphone to your existing setup. I really should learn more about com systems (I have a ClearCom setup, just never tried to do anything except the standard wired system). I suspect that it will just be a matter of wiring, but I'll let someone with more experience than myself comment on that.

Without thinking about how you'd wire it and the impedance mismatches etc you might encounter in trying to do so, an option may be to take a Motorola covert kit, which I think is what you are after, and wire it to a comms 4 pin...

Short answer is no

The earpiece Clearcom supply with their IFB receivers is the TS-1 which is like a single ear version of your typical MP3/Walkman ear buds

For the acoustic tubes like you show in the picture try these guys

For use with Clearcom you should get the 125 ohm impedance version for best results

They also do custom molded earpieces as well
