ETC Element Effects Cueing Issues

I'm using an ETC element board for the local community theatre. They want to have a flash bulb effect using LEDs; I already created the effect using step actions, however when i recorded the cue with the effect it carried over to all subsequent cues and the only way to stop it was to end the effect by board commands, however when i go to the next cue the effect starts all over again. I tried to save the effect to a sub but it kept saying that no channels have been modified. I've been working at it with my offline editor but I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong. If someone could give me a little advice that would be great. Thank You.

Try recording explicit 0's in the cue afterwards - I think you've gotten into a situation where the effect is tracking forward, never encountering a cue to change its state.

It sounds to me like you have the desk in tracking mode. If you go to the next cue and remove the effect and save the cue, it should remove it from the rest of the show.

Alternatively, just switch the desk to cue only mode and add your effect.

Bob, it sounds like you need to put a stop flag on the effect. The fastest way to do that on an Element is [Effect n at Enter]. you want to do that in the cue you want the effect to stop. So if you want it in cue 5, but stop when you run cue 6 - put the stop in cue 6. Hope that helps.
