We've got the Unique at my church and it's performed fairly well, low maintenance. In the youth room (60'x40') it works great, in the sanctuary (150'x90'), it needs some help. I haven't used any
hazer model besides the Unique, but as I understand it, the non-oil-based
haze just doesn't disperse or hang like the oil-based does.
One of my only complaints about the Unique is the auto-purge cycle. As soon as you take the pump
channel to zero, it purges and releases a large cloud of
haze. This is not ideal if you need to stop the
haze mid-show. I'm not sure if other hazers have this same characteristic or not. I've taken to the practice of keeping the pump at at least 5% until the end of the show. Seems a reasonable work-around, though I'd prefer not to have to do it at all.
