so i'm looking at the local directory on iatse's site, and i have to ask, what the fudge do the "local type" letter designations mean? there's no key on the site. i've already done some work with the 311, 14 (i think that's albany) and whoever covers meadowlands. but i want to join a local that's good for me, so i want to know as much as possible.

Mail Order Telephone Clerk??? Ball Park Ticket Sellers??? ...
A box office is a box office. Both take phone orders, both sell tickets at a window. I'm not sure the local or classification, but I believe some horse race track betting window "clerks" are covered under IATSE, or used to be.

Let's not go too far on unions and their jurisdictions. The dealers in two casinos in Las Vegas have voted to be represented by the Teamsters Union. The Culinary Union Local 226 covers "guest room attendants" (maids/housekeeping).
