In need of a friend!

I am a Poor LD in the Bershires that is running Vectorworks 9.

Yes thats right 9. Not 2009.

I was wondering if there was a way to get a cheap upgrade (even one version higher!) or possibly a free one from some where?

Any suggestions CB?

The only free Vectorworks version is the educational version, if you happen to qualify. It prints a greyed out "Vectorworks Educational Edition" on the top and bottom of the drawing.

Or a bootleg version but many gotcha's on that as Nemetshek is getting very good at preventing illegal usage. My version 2013, unlike 2009, will not even open a file sent to me from what they consider an unlicensed version.

Or check out one of these vendors, they're a bit cheaper then buying from Nemetshek directly:

Dealers & Resellers

FWIW, we purchased the upgrade contract via Novedge 2 years ago and have been very happy with it. It was about $850 to upgrade my 2009 version (which they considered "old" in 2011) and then $300 per year for the newest version. It's long term cheaper then waiting and having to pay full price.
