This is an interview variant of a 635, right?

I didn't even know they made those. And where did SNL dig one up, even with 30 Rock to work with?

The 635a has a wider head. The interview model with the longer body is here: https://products.electrovoice.com/downloadfile.php?id=973890

I'm still looking for the model number of the mic in the clip.

It's an Electrovoice RE55. The RE55 is an omnidirectional dynamic, with surprisingly wide, flat frequency response for its day. Back when phantom power was uncommon, they were often used as acoustic measurement mics. (Remember the Crown RTA-2?) It also got used quite a bit for music recording. The unusually long shank seemed out of place most of the time, but it might have had some TV use for game shows and standing interviews. I found the spec sheet in my collection.
