Hi,
My high school's performing arts center is in the market for some expansion to the lighting system.
Currently, we have 56 Colortran 5/50 Elipsoidals (in 20, 30, and 40 degrees), 31 fresnels (23 Colortran 6" and 8 Altman 65Q 6"), 12 PAR64 cans, 5 12-cell conventional striplights (about a meter long), and 5 3-cell Colortran far-cycs.
Our stage has four electrics. We have one catwalk (and a balcony on each side) about 15-20 feet in front of the main acting area. We also have 12 channels along the back wall of the stage, as well as 4 floor-pocket channels in each wing. 24 channels on electrics 1-3, 20 channels on electric 4, 24 channels in the catwalk, 4 channels in each balcony.
We have a Colortran Encore XL console and a total of 162 conventional dimmer channels.
We are looking for a new lighting board that will give us LED/intelligent fixture capability while still being easy to use for students learning the craft.
We are also looking to add a few more conventional fixtures (s4's and 6" fresnels) as well as possibly some LED lighting.
Our productions include musical theatre, non-musical comedy, dance concerts, choir concerts, and band concerts.
What would you guys suggest to begin expanding our lighting capabilities?
