Merge a fixture type from a newer etc element 2

I have two element 2 boards. One is Eos on nomad and updated to the most current Eos version and fixture library. The other can only be updated to version 2.9.2 from 2020 because it runs on windows xp. Can I merge a fixture on the newer board to the older board even though I know it's not in the older library? My only other option is build a custom fixture it seems like... I can see I can merge a custom fixture, but is there a problem running the newer library fixture on the older board if I try to merge ???

Have you checked https://www.etcconnect.com/Support/Consoles/Eos-Family/Eos-Ti/Software.aspx to see if there's a new fixture library for your 2.9.2? Etc is still releasing them

There are still new libraries being released for v2.9, but if there is a fixture in v3.1 that you need in v2.9 you simply need to patch that into a show file, save as .esf or .esf2, and then open that show file or merge the fixtures into the other console to take that profile with you.
