does anyone know an affective way of getting melted gel off of frames? Up until now we have just picked it off but that takes hours and still isn't very affective, any better ideas? Chemicals, Sandpaper, how does everyone else do it?
with lemons and water and then post it on pinterest.
.... also a little concerned how often and to what extent you're burning gel onto your frames that you need this solution? Or is it that you're using a 2k fresenel as a space heater with R80 for that night time look?

Sometimes cold works too. Put it in the freezer or use a can of gum remover. Stuck on stuff gets brittle and easier to chip/scrape off.
But how often is this happening that you need a better system for removing it? Not normal to me even with very low transmission gel in old hot fixtures. Is everything lamped and bench focused correctly?
The lights are are old altman 1000 watt strip light and the has been in them about 6 months. currently trying the freezer and will let you know the results
