Automated Fixtures Vl 2500 ID1 error

Working on my rig this afternoon I encountered a new error on 2 of my VL 2500 spot fixtures. When I powered the units on they showed "starting" on the display and then less then a second later read "ID 1". I restarted one of the units and it started up fine, the second unit it took serval tires to get it to start up normally.
I have been working with VL2400/2500's for the better part to five years and this is the first time I have seen this error.

Unplug the dmx and then restart the fixture. Sometimes fixtures freak out receiving dmx while homing especially if the dmx addresses are not set yet. Another thing to check for is making sure the fixture is on true non dimmed power, make sure the ground is grounded, and meter the neutral to ground voltage. All of these things can make for some strange behavior.

What console are you using?
What voltage are you running the fixture at?
What is the software version of the fixture?

We are running a grand MA with 220v delta power.
I am not certain of the software version. However we are heading into a two week refit so we shall see what happens.
