Wireless Mics Required?

Any musician worth their salt should be able to play "softly" and still produce a very usable and quality tone from their instrument.

Methinks the orchestra just needs to be softer. If it's too loud, just go through the score and put a "p" in front of each dynamics marking:twisted:

J/K about that last part, FYI.

I think that after you have heard the actors along with the orchestra, you can work with the director to set dynamics (f, mf, etc.). He/She hears from their position, but you can walk the house and hear problems they can't account for.

Your best bet with almost any production is to balance the dynamics as if there were no sound reinforcement and then fill in the gaps as needed.
