You guys truly don't disappoint here, my last thread was solved in the matter of about 30 minutes and i hope you guys can help. This one isnt as important i just would like to know for my sanity.
I have been watching this video over and over again and i can't figure out how they did this effect for the life of me.
Its at about 6:37 and i know that he is using about 4 mac vipers, i don't know if they are the profiles or the performance. If you guys know how this was done that would really help.
P.S- This is absolute most favorite lighting effect I have ever seen. I don't know why i like it so much, I just do.

Christian Jackson’s YouTube channel is truly spectacular. He is a genius!!

I have been watching all of his videos for the last 6 months and can’t get enough.
I FEEL THE SAME WAY! I have theater tech friends and whenever they are over at my house and they want to watch YouTube I watch his videos. I wish he would just post more like of just the show and the console though...

Very very true
It is still pretty incredible watching the load ins and set up
That's true, but my favorite part of the show is the programming. Even in my school's theater, I saw your thread about using the nomad software because you love the ion's software so much. My school has an ion and a couple of moving lights, the ion is truly a fun console to use.

I wish my school had the budget for an ion. We use the element or a cognito2. We have a $600 budget provided by our school each production and they charge us $800 to rent our own auditorium. That’s Montgomery county Maryland for you. (Supposedly wealthiest school district in the state)
:(

I don't really know the financials of my school but i know that we put on some pretty good shows and we make some good money off of them. We are planning on getting a digital sound board soon, my sound tech friend is really happy about that, lmao.

That looks like a red/white hot beam effect using RGB lasers. The "wiping" flicker at the end is due to the framerate of the camera.

Kvant and Pangolin have some cool videos on YouTube.

I’m having a hard time pinpointing exactly which effect you’re trying to understand. Almost all of the effects running around 6:37 are Pangolin laser effects, as @Les mentioned.

Almost all of Christian Jackson’s effects are explained in his console programming BTS videos on his YouTube channel, and they’re all done on the MA2. Most of the FX he uses are MAtricks effects, which he’s bound to Layout sheets on fast call, which you can practice at home with MA2onPC and the MA3D visualizer; that’s your best bet to learn them.

Also, I applaud you and @Noah Abrams ’s enthusiasm for programming, by the way. Hope you never lose your love for it! XD
