It's so funny that this pops up! I play keyboard with a few friends and the other day I went over to our lead singer/guitarist's house to clean up a few songs. She had a set of these that she had her mic connected to. It didn't sound great, but also not as bad as you'd think. It was just barely enough to elevate her vocals over my keyboard amp (set really low) and her acoustic-electric guitar in a home setting. She doesn't spend the money on gear like I do, and said she said her ex-boyfriend gave her these and she figured she'd might as well use them. She left the lighting function off. Pretty gimmicky, but I was surprised that the thing actually did have a somewhat practical use. The lights were stupid, though. High output LED's are the most over-used invention, in my opinion (outside of real stage/home lighting applications, of course).
Off the topic, but I can't stand cars that have LED "eyebrows" over their head/tail lights.
