Apollo B&W Gobos and Holders

Are there any generic holders out there that work with Apollo B size glass B&W gobos? The rental shop I'm dealing with for fixtures gave me universal iris slot holders, and the patterns are too small to stay in the channels. They gave me a set of S4 sized non-sandwich metal holders which appear to hold the patterns, but I don't want to find out the hard way that this is going to fail.

City Theatrical has Type B glass holders for S4 here.
and Production Advantage has the official Apollo "Super Holder"here.

I know where to get holders, I just don't want to end up doing trial and error with holders for instruments the theater does not own and never will own. They regard non-360Q ellipsoidals fixtures as good for nothing but destroying gel and too confusing to understand the optics on (degrees vs focal length). Found out the hard way the rental shop I got the Source 4s from does not support the use of Apollo products in their fixtures and I'm own my own. I think they gave me these: http://www.rosco.com/gobos/holderreqs.cfm#14686 but I'm not sure. http://www.rosco.com/gobos/holderreqs.cfm#15786 is the standard holder they give with rentals. I'm more clueless than I'd like to be at the moment.

As far as I know size B glass gobo is a size B glass gobo regardless of the manufacturer. I believe the real question is do you have a size B or a size BG gobo. I believe BG are 79mm diameter and thicker and are the size of custom glass gobos while stock glass gobos come in size B are 86mm and thinner.

Keith? I wish I had a copy of that Apollo gobo size poster here.

Good day gang,

The Apollo SuperResolution B/W glass gobo is ringed in a thin aluminum bezel so operate in a pattern holder designed for metal patterns. This has been helpful for theatres and schools which generally employ metal standards and customs with an occassional B/W glass gobo, as glass pattern holders are not needed.

Regarding size, the Apollo SuperResolution B/W glass gobo is a bit smaller in diameter as mentioned in the original post. The 79mm (3.125 inch) outer bezel diameter should work with any B size sandwich holder intended for use with metal patterns. Apollo, City Theatrical, Altman and ETC each provide pattern holders which work well with steel and Apollo B/W glass gobos.

Here is the gobo sizing poster Gafftaper is refering to:

Please let me know if this helps!

The channel holders I was given should work then. And wow, did not realize there were so many size options. My dealer just asked B or M?

Thanks.

On an unrelated rant, its getting harder and harder to justify Apollo gel for anything since my required dealer just raised the minimum to 10 sheets, and I seldom need more than 2-3 sheets at a time.
