ETC Emphasis fades all lights out and back on

3 days of rehearsal and setup, in show tonight the emphasis console decides to fade all of the lights out and back on. The changes showed on the screen, numbers went from green to purple as it happened. I think soumething may have flashed on screen but I didn't see it. There is nothing in the real time events, nothing in time code, no cues running in the background (easy show only a few cues and it had been sitting in that cue for at least 20 minutes). Any ideas? No one was touching the RFU either. The emphasis and unison systems are on an HTP basis, so someone messing with unison would not have caused the intensity to decrease (and definitely wouldn't have showed on the emphasis display).

When you say "fade" do you mean a gradual decline in intensity or an abrupt blackout?
What kind of rack do you have? Has the dimming rack been cleaned recently? If the rack is dirty then there is a chance that the filter is blocked and the fans are unable to move fresh air through the rack causing it to over heat. Ask the TD when the last rack cleaning was.
