Figure 8 Generator Ground?

I have a 100' ground cable to run from my generator to wherever I can find a spot to put my cooper rod. Do I need to figure 8 my excess grounding cable the way I figure 8 the feeder cable?
In theory, the ground conductor does not carry current unless something goes wrong. (hot conductor in contact with earth, etc.) In practice, generator grounds carry a bit of noise. Only because of that second statement I would say figure 8 it. No point in making it into an inductor or a broadcast antenna ;)
