Yup, looks like its an Legacy
Unison touch panel, and then wall station.
and jmabray, sorry I had got the names mixed up. The
relay pack for HIDS and non-dims is a SmartSwitch 48
Relay Panel.
Bobby,
OK, so a legacy
Unison system.
It's been suggested correctly that you find out if the 5
button has it's buttons mirroring any recordable presets/buttons on the
LCD. By this I mean there would be a
page on either the
portable LCD or any other
LCD that has 5 virtual buttons and a round Record
button.
This is typically setup so you can generate "Looks" on an
LCD and record it to one of those 5 virtual buttons, whose function is now mirrored on the physical 5
button station.
One way to determine if there's a Mirror function is to go to the
LCD 5
button page. If there isn't one then chances are this kind of recording or mirror capability was never included (but probably can be). If there is one, activate a virtual
button, noting which one is edge-lit and also whatever actual lighting function is activated. Now go to the physical 5
button station and note if a
button might have it's green
LED lit. Press it to de-activate it, then go back to the
LCD and note if that virtual
button is no longer
edge lit (and if any lights went out).
If there's no similar virtual
button page on the
LCD, then you will have to have an authorized
ETC service tech. look at the configuration to determine the
current function(s) of the physical 5
button station. They look at the config. using software called Light Manager. Thus and if doing this via the
ETC tech support office, you will need to
send them the configuration file. This is done by accessing the
Unison processor, accessing the functions to Save to Disk, saving to a 3.5" floppy then reading that file on a 'puter, so that the file can be sent to
ETC as an e-mail attachment. Tech Support can talk you though this process.
Note as others have answered, the
Express console has nothing to do with the
Unison system. The
Unison system is controlled by a
processor, usually in a separate electronics rack of some kind, with (hopefully) a locking door. The
Unison processor can be thought of as a separate lighting control
system, specifically designed to deal with functions such as
house lighting, work lights,
relay systems,
etc... Sometimes the
Unison processor will be in it's own
Unison dimmer rack, but is not physically part of the Sensor dimming
system.
Note that it would be helpful to more fully introduce yourself indicating that you are authorized to have these MAJOR changes to the configuration made. I only harp on this, as this website has many high school and college students (and others) reading and there's much room for trouble if someone were to
gain access to a
system using advise given here, making changes that the proper authorized users of the
system might not want made. The concern over this is partly as a result of the fact that we see many similar questions on this site, from students frequently looking for advise, and on none of your posts have you indicated what your title is with the
auditorium, and do you indeed have the authority to have such changes made. Note that I apologize in
advance for any incorrect assumptions made.
