I recall the JTM 2.4, 3.6 & 6.0 KW dimmers in racks of 12 & 20 with their little 'Tom Terrific' hats atop their fans and I remember the 20 & 40 channel 2 scene desks that accompanied them. I DO NOT recall the desks being called JTM's.
Ah! Do you know what the desks are called? We assumed that they were from the same era. Sorry, as said to Mooving Lights Dpt. Mgr, and Console Cage Mgr,... Even the LED/Strobe/Scroller Dpt. Manager. I have incandescent fixtures and cable type gear in collection. General Manager wants similar stuff from your departments in collectin. I have when provided to me, given control gear to other departments lack of display in only examples. But I have no wish to expand my focus in collecting. I already have more than I have time to inventory.
And the Shop Manager has gone "open space" concept for the shop in removing many important lights from the collection display. What used to take me minutes or less to find in parts, requires a search in pallets from multiple buildings including and especially one like ten miles away. Stuff to organize and put away, once given space in the other buildings to do so. And of course time to put the gear away in an organized way.
I do now have a small room in the building 10 miles away for some of the large and oldest gear. But that's for the large gear. Some of the oldest small gear I had to take home to the attic. Given the remote building is un-supervised, and I own the smaller gear... Museum is what it is now. This given I as of yesterday have five more fixtures not in it that I can hang once done in restoring.
Too bad I don't have another space to hang or present the collection. I would pull all I own and get permission from those owning other fixtures... than the General Mananager and designers would ask... what happened to your collection? Err, gee the Shop Manager didn't want them... and I took what I own to a new space. So the shop is displaying what they own in collection (about 1/3.) But we do have an open space shop...
Not going to happen short of me renting a storage space... but yep... at least 30 minutes in finding a cord grip, or 3 hours to pull together parts for a LED project once easily found in my department. It is what it is and we turn in weekly milage gas charges in going to the remote site in the company paying milage, and I cite on the daily report of time spent - time wasted in searching for gear at remote sites. "Open Space" functional shop....
Anyway, for the most part my museum is descomated. I will hang at least four more fixtures on pipe space availablein getting them out of my garage, and still actively collect... but not control or other gear.
I would recommend sending your gear to ETC. They can figure out what to do with it. Edit that... don't send your gear to ETC, but do inquire with your rep. from them if they want it. In that way they did get a rare light board and did pay for it. Or might know of another home for it. Otherwise lobby sculpture is always a good thing for display and fund raising.
Also, this is a very early SP40. The black and white group selection buttons were replaced by toggle switches later. These toggle switches can be seen in Ron's post. Thanks! I've updated my post
lobby sculpture! Hook a few dimmers up to LEDs and the kids will flock to it to try color mixing, etc.Sorry, as said to Mooving Lights Dpt. Mgr, and Console Cage Mgr,...
