There are also weatherproof covers made for outdoor switches and receptacles that may work. Most of the newer ones have a plastic flip-open "bubble", but I have never been impressed with how they hold up over time. Some just have a small flip up cover, made of the same pot-metal material as the "bell boxes" they are typically installed on.
Thay can be found at most good hardware stores. Just ask where the weatherproof bell boxes are, and they should be on the shelf somewhere near. The largest I am aware of is two gang.
