Hello, Question about Midi. Some of the stuff I've read suggest that MIDI starts to loose its integrity. I need a 200ft run to connect a drum set to my ETC Ion. Any suggestions on how to help maintain integrity?

You are right you will need some kind of active extender. Midi looses integrity after about 30' if i remember correctly. Look into MIDI over eithernet XLR devices. They can extend the signal quite a bit but usually cost about $500 for a set.

    Edit:
Heres a device for $300 using twisted pair cable up to 1000'. http://midiextender.com/products/Twisted_Pair_MIDI_Extender.htm

YMMV, but I've run Midi about 300 feet over xlr with only passive adaptors and had no issues.

200' should work just fine. Try it before you spend any money. I use DMX cable and adapters, run it all over the place and have never had any problems.
