Automated Fixtures Strobe Light Hanging

Could someone please tell me the best location to hang a strobe light(s) like an Atomic 3000 so that it will deliver the maximum effect in a blackout, whether the position be on stage, on a batten, in the cove, on a tormentor,etc...

Overstage tends to work best because your not lighitng up the entire house. Thats at least a starting point... but it never hurts to try other places. Without knowing the exact look your going for and what your space looks like it is impossible to give you a perfect answer.

It depends on the effect your looking for. If you want to light the stage, then over the stage is best. If you want to give the audience a serious jolt, then midway up the cyc or in a groundrow pointed out the audience, like at a concert. Coves and whatnot will rarely if ever be effective.

I will try these I am thinking that we will hang the light from a pipe near the cyc lights and move it so it flashes into the audience's direction.
