Wiring Altman Shakespeare for Edison plug

Hi I'm the venue sound guy who also doubles as the lighting person. We recently acquired a used Shakespeare that needs an Edison plug. However, aside from the green ground wire, the two other wires are both gray. I'm wondering which to attach to the hot terminal and which to the neutral.

As this is for a incandescent Lamp (light bulb) there is no polarity. Either one can be wired to the hot.
To expound a bit...
Yes, in this case, polarity doesn't matter, but it's because of the particular socket, not the light source. The Shakespeare's TP-220 (Bi-pin), bi-post, and RSC sockets make no distinction between hot and neutral (hence both wires the same color), but prefocus and screwbase sockets certainly do (the hot is the center contact, and the "shell" the neutral).
