The Middleton Cross Plains Area School District is looking for a new Performing Arts Center(PAC) Director.
The Middleton PAC is used over 300 days a year for school, community, and national events.

The Job Description currently states half to full time. We are working on solidifying the description and hope to make it full time.
Start Date is flexible as we want to give everyone an opportunity to apply.(could start as early as next month or as late as July 1 2018.)

JOB SUMMARY:
The PAC Director coordinates and schedules the use of the PAC to enhance the educational and cultural program of the District and the community; and ensures that the facility is operated and maintained in a clean, safe, attractive, comfortable and efficient manner.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two-year or four-year (desired) in theatre/performing arts management or a related field.
- Experience in theatre production/management.
- Knowledge of and experience working with theatre equipment.
- Ability to develop positive constructive relations with students, staff and public.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Schedule use of the PAC by school users, the school district community and non-affiliated groups. Tasks include:
- Respond to inquiries or requests for use or information;
- Provide tours and maintain calendar of scheduled events and usage;
- Meet with prospective users to draft contracts;
- Implement fee schedule and facilitate invoicing;
- Review and make recommendations for PAC policies, procedures and use agreement;
- Explain policies and procedures for use;
- Meet with teachers, staff, administrators, and committees regarding use of the PAC.
- Manage facility use, preparation and setup for events at the PAC. Tasks include:
- Assist in set-up and preparation for use;
- Instruct in safe use of equipment, prepare sound system, set and focus lighting, train in use of stage manager’s console, prepare front of house (lobby, ticket office, etc.);
- Arrange for additional equipment as needed; arrange for preparation of orchestra pit, advise and consult with users on possibilities for enhancing their events in the PAC;
- Monitor events to assure safety and appropriate use;
- Respond to unforeseen and emergency needs of users.
- Supervise and schedule personnel (i.e. tech crew, house manager, ushers) to assist in use of facility
- Participate in budget planning and oversight. Tasks include:
- Maintain PAC equipment and facility in good working order. Tasks include:
- Attend required meetings and participate actively in any work group, training or related management assignments. Provide periodic reports of PAC use to committees, administration and the Board of Education.
- Establish new procedures and policies as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of procedures, equipment and software used to perform duties, such as lighting and sound equipment, specialized control panels, ticketing, crowd control, MS Word, MS Excel, E-mail, calendar software, Internet; and office equipment such as copier, calculator and telephone system
- Direct and/or plan activities of others.
- Ability to organize and establish priorities.
- Ability to make reasonable independent judgments and decisions.
- Ability to function as a team member.
- Ability to handle confidential matters properly.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to interact effectively with others.
